3 goals for August
New month, new goals!
July wasn't quite as much of a bust as June, but it still wasn't quite what I hoped for running-wise. But considering how hot it's been, powering through on those runs is surely making me stronger for fall.
August is shaping up to be a little wild, but I still have goals. I pared them way down from July and I only have 3 of them instead of 5. I know my limits.
So here they are (my goals and my limits):
1) 5 runs per week
For August, I just want to get back into the groove of running 5 days. I'll still get in my strength and yoga, but I'm not giving myself a specific number per week to do like last month. Mostly because we have a vacation coming up and I know strength and yoga won't happen during that. Running, yeah. Everything else? Nope.
I also think I need to back off (at least for a few weeks) on multiple days of strength training. I've found that it's really leaving my legs in a constant state of fatigue and now that fall training is getting real, I need to keep my legs a little happier for running.
In July, the week I only did one strength workout, my legs felt a lot fresher and I was able to run better. Since running is my primary focus at this point and I have race goals for fall, it makes sense to focus more on that now but not to leave out strength entirely.
2) Write two UX/product-related blog posts
I have a backlog of blog posts related to UX. I've been in the industry for a while and I have a lot of information in my head that would be really helpful to other people. And I know blogging is a good way to promote my soon-to-be-officially-launched business and gain trust. So. Two blog posts. I can do this.
So here we go, August. Let's do this.
